Paris - Worlds - History (Marco Emanuele)

Today we are all united against terror. But share the emotion is not enough to give a new course to history, to restore meaning and dignity to the human condition. We must work together on two major challenges:

- understand that politics must regain a complex nature, mediation and project. Today, faced with the phenomena of transnational crime (whatever they are called) that reconfigure the institutions to their interests, we need above all a decision-making capacity of vision, prevention, contrast;

- strategically rethink the limits of "linear thinking", which causes war in various forms, and give life to a "complex thought" on global reality. We need a comprehensive reform of living together that recognizes the interrelationships that characterize the present world. We need to overcome the self-referentiality of the competitive model to enhance the integration of globally cooperative processes. Only then, in fact, globalization can be truly global.

Marching against terror is important but, in the absence of a project of civilization, is likely to be the empty exercise of an international community that does not exist.
