Beyond the present (Marco Emanuele)
What is happening in France worth thinking beyond the present.
What we call the West, in fact, is paying the consequences of his wrong choices; in too many places around the world we continue to behave as "rulers", supposed "civilization makers" and we not study the evolution of the societes call "others". Too often we think, as it happened to so-called "Arab springs", that democratic changes can occur through the application of a model and not through the slow maturation of historical processes.
This attitude leads us not to have political thoughts and solutions for the evolving worlds. We, the western, continue to simplify reality and this puts us in front of its complexity; we do not understand it and, in doing so, we seek solutions in the present and we do not have visions of coexistence.
The French events, whatever their cause, teach us that we need more politics, philosophy and anthropology to deeply understand the global history; the rest is technical and war. For this reason, even if it's nice, say "je suis Charlie" is not enough.
